Nerve pain has been a huge problem for me. so for there to be a solution is nothing short of wonderful. 

Changing weather and the cold. Unbearable prolonged shivering, even in a hot room.

The open sea is an endless source of inspiration, energy, mystery and wonder. It conjures fear and curiosity, longing and serenity. It is equally relentless and soothing, unforgiving and welcoming — a character that has touched, and taken, endless lives.

For Matthew Raynor, it was nearly the latter.

Check out my first self produced Youtube video. Made specially with the useless claws of a quadriplegic, this video highlights my shelter island shoot. Life Repurposed Through Photography

While the rest of the world learned to navigate a pandemic, Matthew Raynor was still learning how to adjust to life in a wheelchair. In 2019, the Hampton Bays native suffered a severe spinal injury, the result of a dive gone wrong, that left him paralyzed below his collarbone. 

For some, this would signify the end of all hope, but for Matt it was the chance to start over. Prior to his accident, Raynor was a fisherman with a photography hobby that captured powerful moments at sea—buoys, tempest-tossed boats, brewing weather and big waves—images both bold and beautiful. Since, it has transformed into art therapy, and a means to pay for his recovery.
